Colarusso 1979 discusses the use of certain prefixes in some North-West Caucasian languages, which he takes to mark what he calls ‘horizon of interest’.

In other words, it appears to be possible to distinguish between those languages that give more weighting to objective factors and those which leave more room for subjective factors in judgements of temporal distance. Such factors may be for instance patial distance or personal involvement.
